At Ultimate Self Defense, we know that life for a kid isn’t always easy. School, friends, and bullies are all a part of the lives of our children. At Ultimate Self Defense we want to help your child develop skills that will allow them to gain the focus and self-confidence (especially for girls) that they will need to meet the challenges that will face them in and out of school.

 

Our Kids classes include students that range in age from 5 years old to 12 years old. Our classes begin with strength and flexibility exercises designed to be beneficial and most of all FUN for your child.

 

Before someone signs you up without stepping on a mat, come and have your child try a FREE CLASS and see if we are a fit.

 

In addition to fighting and self defense skills they can use throughout their lives, we aim to teach your child self respect, respect for others, self confidence, discipline, concentration, a sense of fair play, and cooperation skills.

 

We will also help your child become more physically fit as they train in our classes. According to the Centers for Disease Control, childhood obesity has been on a steady rise since  1980.

The CDC’s website state’s the following regarding this issue.

 

Obesity Among Youth

· The prevalence of obesity among children aged 6–11 more than doubled in the past 20 years, going from 6.5% in 1980 to 17.0% in 2006. The rate among adolescents aged 12–19 more than tripled, increasing from 5.0% to 17.6%.3  

 

· Children and adolescents who are overweight are more likely to be overweight or obese as adults;4 one study showed that children who became obese by age 8 were more severely obese as adults.5”

 

We encourage both male and female students to join our classes and learn how to defend themselves, gain physical and mental strength, a new social network, and skills that they can use in future sporting endeavors such as wrestling, football, basketball, baseball, and many other sports.
